Week of December 17th - December 21st

ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, THERE WILL BE AN EARLY DISMISSAL FOR STUDENTS FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY!!! SCHOOL WILL BE BACK IN SESSION ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2013. ENJOY THE BREAK! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

**MIDTERMS WILL BEGIN ON JANUARY 10TH!!!

This week in Language Arts we will continue to work on verbs, verb forms, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement. We will be completing the verb unit on Thursday with a quiz.

Thursday: study for vocab #12 and 13 quiz tomorrow

This week in Reading we will complete our unit on Figurative Language on Monday. Students will make flashcards for all the forms of figurative language. Please study these cards frequently. Although we will not have a quiz on these terms, they will be on the Midterm!
For the remainder of the week, we will analyze and discuss Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". On Tuesday we will explore background information on Charles Dickens and "A Christmas Carol", as well as new vocabulary. Due to time constraints, and the Christmas break, we will only be reading the first Stave: "Marley's Ghost" from "A Christmas Carol". Tuesday through Friday, we will read and discuss "Marley's Ghost" and complete a study guide.There will be a short quiz on Friday!
